Friends! As the December Challenge on Patreon was to use what we had (no-spend), I thought it would be fun to host a swap that felt a little bit like shopping. Except we won't have to spend any money! 😁 I also made this a small small swap, so postage will be very cheap as well. I think we should be able to use a 20 grams stamp: more is also allowed, but a small envelope is enough. I for example swapped an envelope full of labels (from my huge stash!) for the sticker girls I was looking for: win-win!

The idea is as follows:

  • In the comments of this swap, we'll leave a little list of things we'd love to receive. [Try to combine harder to find items with easier things everyone has in their stash, and it would be best to stay away from country/brand specific things, as not everyone can get their hands on these goods.]

  • I'd say we ask for 5 things, but more is always allowed as that will make it easier for our swap partner. Items listed on your profile count as well. [My list could for example be: sticker girls, tickets, anything with floral theme, pastel die-cuts, lace and gold foiled washi samples.]

  • When partners are assigned, read the little list they made and go "shopping" for them in your own stash. !! You don't have to complete the list !! [if my swap partner happens to only have 2 items that I listed, that's fine - you don't have to buy more or anything. Try looking at their profile to see if there's anything else you can add, or find similar items in your stash!]

  • Make a nice selection of goodies from their wishlist, enough to fill a small postage envelope. Remember: you don't have to tick every box of their list! Add a note to say hello + explain what you chose, and send in a lightly decorated envelope (goodies can be without wrapping to save space + postage).

That's it! Simple, right? If your partner happens to ask for very specific things you really do not own, feel free to shoot them a message. Otherwise I think this should be fun & easy 😁

For this swap, I will need everyone to have a filled out profile (especially fill in your "likes") and of course be an active patron. I look forward to it!

What I'd love to receive: * washi, clear or rub-on stickers * that "PET tape" everyone seems to now own (example on Etsy if you type in "pet tape" haha) * something blue or green * tickets, either vintage or newer style * handmade paper (samples) * coloured yarn or string * buttons * grid washi tape samples Feel free to choose anything from my profile as well, there are so many things I like receiving!

What I’d love to receive: My color for 2022 is green. So I’d love any green ephemeral pieces. That could be green botanical stickers, green washi tape, green journaling cards, green tea, lol But really, anything flat for my Hobonichi planner, and anything green would be great. Also frogs would be a bonus! But I know everyone isn’t into frogs. But if you happen to have any frog illustrations or photos…you’d really make my day. Thank You- Faith

This is a brilliant idea, Vivian! I just went in and updated my profile a bit because I wanted everyone to have lots of options -- and understand that I'm really easy to please. Here are some more things that I like: I send letters from Santa to help my friends, so I'm always looking for stickers and stamps that say something about the North Pole. I'm terrible at cutting, so I appreciate when people send things cut out from magazines and books. I'm into snow scenes right now, and I'd like to try those little dot washi stickers, too. What else? Oh, I never have anything to craft with when I want to send mail to my friends who love cats. So... anything with cats would be welcome!
