Resist and Midterms Prep

The midterms are coming and it's time for craftivists to engage. Let's get in gear with joyful resistance happy mail. Share and inspire allies and co-conspirators. The goal is to create something to inspire your partners to share, duplicate or otherwise distribute in order to encourage voting and/or resisting.

1. Prep your message and make paper-based art (4"x6" max, 3"x4" min): think collage, painted, sketched, rubber-stamped, your own carved stamp, etc. How about color copies collaged as a masterboard that you then cut into large tags or postcards? Put suggestions or ideas in the comments below. Reproduce-able is desired but not required.

2. Send 3 to 5 pieces each to 2 swap partners. Wow, imagine how cool to receive!

3. Include a note: maybe about what inspired you, what hopes you have for how your work can be used, encouragement and support, a joke from a late night show, etc.

Feel free to start making your items right away, and ship when your partner is assigned. It’d be ideal if you could honor specific interests of your partners but not required. Please ensure you send with sufficient postage.

Don't forget to include your username and the swap name for rating. Please rate your partner promptly when you receive. Rate a 5 for meeting criteria, not whether it aligns with your preferences. Hearts for extra creativity. Be kind.

To join this swap, you must have a 4.98 minimum rating and at least one type 3 swap rated on your profile. No unexplained "1's or 3's." I reserve the right to remove a participant if I see any concerns. I'll let you know my concern so that you can try to address it if you still desire to join the swap. Make things you'd be delighted to receive. Don't sign up if you can't meet these effortful stipulations.
