R&W: Retelling

Retellings! There are a lot of book retellings out there. Let's choose one, read the original tale and read a retelling. (Or listen on audiobook, of course.) Choose any pair you wish, any genre. This can be Cinderella and a retelling of that story, Dracula or Carmilla and a retelling of it. Maybe a retelling and a retelling of the retelling. (Maybe not, that's a bit confusing!) Such as Jane Eyre and Rebecca and The Hacienda.

After you've read the books, and partners have been assigned, send your partner a letter or notecard and tell them which books you read and what you thought. Was the retelling well done? Or did the author stray too far from the original story? Which did you enjoy more?

I'm giving you lots of time to choose and find your books, in addition to reading them. Feel free to start as soon as you wish. And this is a type 3 because it's going to take some time to read the books and write about them.
