I have never had a go at art journaling so I thought what about creating a swap and doing an art journal over one week during the holidays. Example of what I am going to do is that I am going to fold two pieces of A4 paper so that makes 8 pages then colour each page and stick things down from magazines to go with each theme below. You will give a title page for your journal,

  1. Your favourite two colours and write why
  2. Your favourite film star
  3. Your idea of fashion
  4. Your favourite film
  5. The places you want to visit
  6. News from your country
  7. Express yourself by telling your partner about you.

Due to being flaked on in the past in journal swaps and no one angelling me, I will be checking profiles, if you would like to take part and have any questions please send me an email, I want this to be a fun swap and not one where we spend time in making something and then get nothing back. I do hope that many of you will be able to take part.

Could we use a spiral sketchbook or even a composition notebook for the journal? It would be sturdier than just paper.

This is a brilliant swap idea! I have wanted to do an art journal for such a long time! This project is perfect because it's small and do-able! :)

@luleemik use some cardstock or cardboard covered in pretty papers for covers and to make it stronger. A composition notebook would be a bit big just for 8 pages worth! (though I wouldn't say no if someone wanted to send me one, we can't buy them here....)

@violin21 I am going to attempt this before the sign-up date and if it works ok and I am happy with it, I will join... :)

Great siouxx05, I have already started mine too, the swap is aimed at newbies to this art form like me, I think it is more like making giant ATC's with your own thoughts and writing attached to it from the websites I have looked at. :)

I have never done it before Filpot there are so many videos on youtube that you can use to inspire you, I have just used watercolours, cuttings from papers to help me, I hope this helps, maybe start to have a go and if you feel you want to share your work it will be great to have you in the swap.

If you want to reduce the flakage, you might try putting a rating requirement on this swap. say, nothing below a 4.9.

if you fold 2 pieces of A4 paper which I had stipulated as what the swap is the front page is page one which is the cover and then the next two pages 2 and 3 etc... I hope that this is clear
