Hi, I'm Sigrid and live in northern Michigan in a small town, a village of 700 people surrounded by farmland and woods. We have a school, post office, a gas station, 2 family-owned restaurants, an ice cream store, a small hardware store, 2 churches, and a Dollar General. It's a clean, friendly town where people wave at each other in passing. Neighbors alert each other to the occasional trespassing of bears, cougars, skunks, coyotes, and possums. Deer and turkey hunting are big around here and we will barter farm eggs for venison. I'm starting to sound like Elly Mae Clampet here, but it's not like that lol.
I love Jesus and pray that all would turn to him because he's our maker, the way, the truth, and the life. I'm always grateful for just how much he loves, even people who don't know him yet. And how the invisible power of God changes us and protects us when we turn back to him and share our hearts with him. One day, I hope to see him as he truly is and be like him in every way, without sin, weakness, or fault. And, I hope it's with you too.
In early summer, I enjoy walking around my property collecting wildflowers and pretty leaves. I press them and insert them in my Bible, or add them to my craft projects, or make greeting cards of them.
I'm mostly a coffee drinker, but can enjoy a good Chai tea and green tea on occasion. I like cooking, antique stores, sitting on my deck with a cup of coffee to watch the birds, listening to old-school radio, watching my favorite YouTubers, making my friends laugh, and ice cream.
In giving back to my community, I make home-cooked dinners for 20-25 guests at the Hospital's Hospitality Manor and volunteer at our church nursery.
My favorite hobby is making paper crafts, snippet strips, staining papers, junk journals in the French shabby chic style, and anything that I can make using my hands. I also enjoy sewing from time to time.
Craft items I can use are clear flower stickers, Victorian calling cards, and the like, Vintage Hello Kitty especially anything Marron Cream which I'm sorry that they discontinued long ago -- it's still one of my favorite things, vintage gnomes, embossed papers, stationery (which I never have enough of), miniature paper clips, silk ribbons, and vintage laces.
I usually work on my swaps before partners are assigned, so it will be ready to send out (unless it's profile-based).
If either of us is late with a swap, let's reach out and let each other know what to expect. I'm easy-going and understand that sometimes life happens -- I hope you do too.
I rate the day, or the day after I receive your swap.
