Squirrel Appreciation Day January 21st.
I love animals and worked in animal education outreach for years, one of our animals ambassadors was a squirrel named Rocket. To this day I leave them "presents" nuts and such on this day which is sometimes cold and snowy in NYC
Penguin Awareness Day January 20th...
Who doesn't like penguins? Between visits to the zoo, movie portrayals and fond memories of Chilly Willy cartoons they are awesome ;)
Houseplant Appreciation Day - January 10th
I love plantes outdoors and in. I'm a volunteer with the Parks department (trees and compost) and once upon a time took turns in the green house at a colonial farm I worked at
.
and a bonus...
I picked Winnie the Pooh Day, January 18th. Since you shared about reading I am sure this childhood favorite should be familiar! The day was chosen as it is the birthdate of A.A .Milne the author.
