It's not in September! The holiday Patriots' Day is April 19 to commemorate the Battles of Lexington and Concord. And the Boston Marathon.

So I always thought Patriot's Day was Sept 11th will look it up.

Patriot's Day was established before the Boston Marathon. Maybe in Massachusetts Patriot's Day is April 19th.

I just looked it up on Wikipedia. There's Patriot Day observed as a remembrance of September 11, 2001. And there's Patroits' Day, just observed by a few states, to commemorate the battles @manders2280 mentioned.

Yep, This swap is in commemoration of the Sept. 11 "Patriot Day" Swan mentioned. Not "Patriot's Day". It's that "'s" that makes the difference. :)
